350.org

The first event was in conjunction with 350.org.  I was part of a global team that helped mobilize over 5200 actions in 181 countries on October 24th—CNN called it 'the most widespread day of political action in the planet's history.  I helped in communicating with area organizers answer questions on how to outline and execute groups of people in the US and other countries form a human collage forming the numbers 350, and taking an aerial photo of the group.   The photos were then uploaded to 350.org and broadcasted on the large screen in Times Square.  The groups ranged from 10 to 1500 people.  350 is the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide—measured in "Parts per Million" in our atmosphere. 350 PPM—it's the number humanity needs to get back to as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change

Earth Day on the Promenade

I was involved in every aspect of the 7th annual event in Santa Monica.  From budgeting, PR, and help getting over 80 vendors/exhibitors, sponsors etc.  This was our first event together and my partners 7th. We were the only two on staff besides a volunteer coordinator.  Around 20,000 people throughout the day enjoyed our event.

James Cameron Earth Day Avatar Event

I was involved with the daily event, and the VIP Reception. I also attracted sponsors which participated in both events.

More on the two events:
There were 4,000 inner city kids that were brought into the Nokia Theater to learn about recycling, eating organically and what is needed to help save the earth (they called it eco warrior training) then they were able to watch Avatar on screen.

The VIP reception had James Cameron, President Susilo Yudhoyono of Indonesia and an on slot of celebrities: Frances Fisher, actor Billy Zane, Adrian Grenier, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Los Angeles Mayor Anotnio Villaraigosa, Wladimir Klitschko, Hayden Panetierre, Joel David Moore, Brenda Strong, Daryl Hanna, Lu Parker Jason Mraz, and Rosario Dawsonand. The private event was Called, The Global Home Tree Benefit.

Around 30,000 people throughout the day.  We had 150 eco vendors/exhibitors.  Three stages, one main stage with music, second a kids stage, third is a health and fitness stage.  I organized the VIP room at the Erwin Hotel on Venice Beach where the directors from the movie FUEL and CONFESSIONS OF AN ECO TERRORIST, Directors from Heal the Bay, the Directors from WHALE WARS and the crew from THE COVE  all spoke to a select crowd.   I was involved with getting sponsors, vendors, PR work, and the daily activities to make the day run smoothly.  I was also the key player in getting an interview with Lisa Jackson (head of The Environmental Protection Agency), plus Amy smart presenting the Heart of Humanity Award.  We also had Ed Bagley, congress women Jane Harman and also the Regional Director of the EPA (Lisa Jackson had to leave to tend to the oil spill.) Jon Sally also spoke on stage.  We also had Fuel TV come down and film our eco skate demonstration with pro skaters, including an eco-fashion show and eco art show.
